Rav Chaim Stein (1913–2011) was the embodiment of the alter Telshe. After surviving the war and fleeing Europe alongside Rav Gifter and Rav Katz, he devoted his entire life to rebuilding the Yeshiva. He was known for his tremendous Hasmoda, never wasting a moment of learning, and his fiery Mussar shmuessen which demanded spiritual excellence from every talmid.
